As I said in my "The Avengers" review, one of the things that the Marvel studios would probably take out of the movie was the marketing ploy (sort of) for it. Although it isn't exactly marketing, we see the same pattern that is happening as before. Movies such as "Iron Man", "The Incredible Hulk", "Thor", and "Captain America" all led up to one big movie we know as "The Avengers". With more sequels coming out to theses movie, such as Iron Man 3 being the first, all of them are going to lead up to "The Avengers 2".
As announced earlier this week, Joss Whedon has a three year deal with Marvel studios now. This means he will be working in and out of the Marvel movies, doing various things, and maybe even making a live action television show for them. The movies we expect to see from marvel, starting on May 3, 2013, are Iron Man (precious mentioned date), Thor: The Dark World (November 8, 2013), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 4, 2014), Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1, 2014), and a possible Hulk sequel or television series, so Marvel studios will be busy for quite a while. Also in 2014 we expect to see the "Ant-Man" movie to be released meaning the company will release three movies in one year (a new record!). With that, it begs the question what other movies might be release from the company that we don't know of and will they be in the Avengers sequel? Or will there be surprise appearances in the sequel? "The Avengers 2" is scheduled to be released in the summer (possibly June) of 2015.
