With all that he does, I'm happy to hear del Toro is still doing this project.
As we all know director Guillermo del Toro is known for making great "monster" movies, so why wouldn't he remake the Disney's "The Haunted Mansion" movie. He has a talent for making creepy, eerie live action movies and is great in making monster special effects. So if Disney wants to make their attraction-based film more "adult" and a bit more scary than the last, del Toro is definitely the guy. But why would they pull from his website that he is not doing the project anymore? Does he have to much going on?
The answer to that is sort of. According to ScreenRant, Guillermo del Toro does not plan to drop the "Haunted Mansion" project, and he might even direct it. Right now though, he has more than enough on his plate. With his much anticipated film "Pacific Rim" (which he is working on now) won't be finished until early 2013, "Pinocchio" already in development (under del Toro's collaborator Mark Gustafson), del Toro still wanting to write and direct the retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" (which will star Emma Watson), and he still want to complete the "Hellboy" trilogy. We will probably not see the remake of "The Haunted Mansion" until way in the future.
What do you think? Should Guillermo del Toro try to stay with this project or just forget about it?
