Trailer Talk--"Gangster Squad"

Maybe a former Las Angeles cop can write a movie?

"Gangster Squad" is owned by Warner Brothers Sudios.
                                                       Release date: September 7, 2012.

Synopsis take from ScreenRant: Gangster Squad is described as “a colorful retelling of events” surrounding the LAPD’s efforts to take down Brooklyn-born, “Jewish Mafia” king Meyer Harris ‘Mickey’ Cohen (Oscar-winner Sean Penn) during the 1940s. The film was scripted by former LA cop Will Beall (who’s writing Justice League) and directed by Ruben Fleischer of Zombieland fame (he also helmed the forgettable 30 Minutes or Less).

Gangster Squad looks like it should bring in a pretty wide variety of audiences who won't be disappointed to badly. The film is being said to resemble "The Untouchables" in multiple different ways. ScreenRant notes the similarities: "a story that offers a hard-boiled retelling of real-life events; a larger-than-life portrait of an infamous crime boss, as played by a lauded thespian (Penn as Cohen in Gangster Squad, Robert De Niro as Al Capone in Untouchables)". It's also a good point that the cast picking looks pretty on spot as some of the characters seem to show struggle between righteous cop and hardened criminal.

So what do you think? Are you excited to see a new 1940's gangster flick in theaters?
