Movie News--The Newest "Amityville Horror" Movie to Have Found Footage in it?

I didn't think they could drag out this franchise anymore.

So, as most of us know, the "Amityville Horror" franchise has been around for what seems like forever now. The first "Amityville Horror" film came out back in 1979 and was based on the best-selling novel "The Amityville Horror: A True Story". The film told the story of the Lutz family who moved into the famous house and claimed that it was haunted. SPOILER AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT! Later in the film, the family finds out that thirteen months before they moved in, Ronald DeFeo Jr. (the father of the previous family that lived in the house) had shot and killed six members of his family. This was supposedly why the house was being haunted.

Since then, there has been nine sequels/prequels to the film with the most recent one being released in 2011 called "The Amityville Haunting". Now according to The Hollywood Reporter, a new movie is being made to add to the franchise, but this one is going to have something in it that the others do not. The new producer and executive chairman of the Evergreen Media Group, Tony DeRosa-Grund, claims that he has acquired found footage of a seance held in the Amityville house in 1976. He says the video will be used in the film and the experiences the happened to the two reporters who investigated the instances will be the basis of the film. This film will probably not be a prequel since the haunting took place in 1975, but it's a great way to market the Amityville name to viewers.

So what do you think? Would you want to see a "Paranormal Activity" like movie from the "Amityville Horror" franchise, or do you with this would just go away already?
