Another step closer for this reboot to be completed!
Hooray! According to Heat Vision, Keira Knightley has officially entered negotiations to co-headline for Kenneth Branagh's "Jack Ryan" reboot. Paramount picture considered Knightley as the first actress to play the part. Branagh still auditioned several actresses before re-approaching Knightley. Other actresses that were considered for the part were Felicity Jones and Evangeline Lilly. Others were Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel who are both starring in the "Total Recall" remake. Both had passed on the offer, even with an option to return for two sequels.
Paramount has been struggling with getting this project going, but it is now slowly, but surly, on its way to start filming. Some delays have been from its lead male role, given to Chris Pine, for his schedule complications. Pine has also been on set filming for J.J. Abrams. "Star Trek" sequel. There has also been problems trying to get a writer for the film along with several other behind the scenes difficulties. With this though, Kenneth Branagh's "Jack Ryan" is one step closer to being completed.
Here is ScreenRants synopsis/information of the film:
Kenneth Branagh is moving full-steam ahead on his Jack Ryan franchiser restart, wherein he’ll portray a malevolent financial strategist whose attempts to lay ruin to the U.S. economy are complicated by a pre-CIA Ryan (Chris Pine). Branagh is, of course, also directing the project – taking over from long-attached helmer Jack Bender – and working from David Koepp’s script draft.
So what do you think? Are you happy to see Keira Knightley go back to her "Period Time" work, or would you rather see a different actress for the reboot?
